Wintertime is sportstime in the mountains. We just count the days until it snows the first time, so that skiing, snowboarding, hiking and also coasting are possible. Here are some suggestions how you can experience a special winter holiday in Oberstdorf.
Ski and snowboarding
Welcome to Germany's largest skiing area Oberstdorf/Kleinwalsertal. More than 120 kilometers of optimally primed slopes in all levels of difficulty are expecting you.
Skiing is fun for children, parents, oldies and teens - just for everybody. Oberstdorf offers a lot of ski schools where beginners can do their first steps and experts can optimize their technique.
Cross-country skiing
You prefer plane to steep slopes? And a high speed is not your first goal? Then cross-country skiing may be the perfect sport for you.
Oberstdorf and it's sorrounding villages provide 75 kilometers of cross-country ski runs in a beautiful environment. The entrance to these ski runs are just a step away from the Hotel Mohren.
Oberstdorf Therme (Not available at the moment --> new in 2024)
To relax from an exhausting skiing day or to enjoy a recreative massage, the "Oberstdorf Therme" is exactly where you find this. There's furthermore a seperate swimming pool for the children to play at and a big swimming pool with waves where you feel as if you are in the sea.
Winter hiking
You don't like skiing or you're looking for an alternative? Winter-hiking is also much fun! Therefore, Oberstdorf provides 140 kilometers of cleared hiking trails in three different altitudes. On every trail you can enjoy the silence and the warm sunrays in the winterwonderland Oberstdorf.
Another positive aspect of winter-hiking: the cold and fresh air is really healthy. And most of the hiking trails can be started right from the door of the Hotel Tannhof.
